Yoga just for fun – a different new yoga DVD

yoga fun.jpg

If you’ve been doing the same series of asanas for weeks and months on end, you may be getting bored with yoga.

This is natural – your yoga is no longer offering you a challenge.

Here’s a way to make yoga fun again. Yoga rocks! reports: “Chaos’s Indie Rocker series has me sufficiently intrigued to finally try a home workout. Despite the soundtrack, I find the yoga session calming and, dare I say it, fun. The beginners’ workout challenges my novice self without feeling too much like hard work. The only problem is that most poses have you facing the floor, so you keep having to crane your neck to see what’s on the screen, but perhaps this is a universal problem when exercising with a fitness DVD for the first time. However, aside from almost toppling over while attempting a backwards bend, I survive relatively unscathed.”

Christmas gifts for the yoga devotee

Yoga

What are you buying for the yoga devotee in your life?

Yoga practitioners are easy to buy for – they always have needs for their practice.

You could buy yoga clothing, a new mat, yoga props, or a new DVD or book.

“Fitness gifts: some things to consider” recommends:

Consider a few sessions with a trainer, nutritionist or yoga instructor. Getting off on the right foot with advice from a knowledgeable professional can be powerful. There are many online options as well. A weekly online appointment with a certified trainer or nutritionist can help someone stick with their commitments.

It is fairly easy to put together a gift basket of goodies. Items to add: protein bars, workout gloves, good headphones (iPod sold separately!), exer-tubes or bands, DVD’s, sore muscle balm, logbook and a certificate of promise to be an ongoing cheerleader.
